Micro Wind Energy

There are currently enormous efforts underway in the US to establish sprawling wind farms to generate electricity that could have been a reality 50 years ago.

Have we in the past, and are we still, overlooking the possibilities of micro windmills?

In a TED talks video of 19 year old William Kamkwamba it is highlighted that we might make use of and develop wind energy at a micro level if we envision the range of possibilities. William's story is at http://www.ted.com/talks/william_kamkwamba_on_building_a_windmill.html

Two possible considerations in micro windmill energy to consider are:
1. Is it technically feasible to deploy micro (personal/private/small) windmills?
2. Is the populace ready to embrace micro windmill power generation?
